The Zorgcirkels Jongdementie cooperative was established on 31 July 2017 within the non-profit organisation Woonzorgnet-Dijleland and the Expertisecentrum Dementie Vlaams-Brabant Memo. It is a care organisation with and at the same time for people with early onset dementia.

The role of the volunteer in this setting is particularly important. They are also people among people, walking together, cycling, telling stories, going out on excursions, etc. They are guided to treat people with early onset dementia, their caregivers and their loved ones in a caring way.

What are your duties as a volunteer?

The work of a volunteer can be very varied. Zorgcirkels Jongdementie is currently looking for volunteers to welcome people with early onset dementia and their caregivers in the daycare centre in the morning with a coffee break.

If the coronavirus measures become more flexible, the organisation will also look for volunteers to join on excursions or organise and prepare activities in small contact bubbles.

Profile of the volunteer:

  • You are between the ages of 18 and 60
  • You are in good general health and do not have any symptoms of COVID-19.

Zorgcirkels Jongdementie offers you:

  • an exciting and enriching experience
  • ongoing education and support
  • insurance
  • no financial compensation, but a reimbursement of expenses incurred, which were agreed in advance.
